Today you will have an early morning breakfast at 7 am, After Breakfast you will be picked up by your driver/guide and depart for Samburu National Reserve, It’s about 6 hours’ drive to Samburu from Nairobi. Rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Samburu is inhabited by a wide variety of animals, more so the rare species such as the long-necked gerenuk, gravy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Beisa oryx. Other animals include the leopard, the mighty lion, elephants; crocodiles can be seen swimming in the Ewaso Nyiro River along with the hippo. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an unlimited afternoon game drive exploring the beauty that is within Samburu and its richness in wildlife and birdlife.

Full Day Safari in Samburu National Reserve

Full day in Samburu Game Reserve with game drives. You may choose to go out for a morning game drive and return for breakfast at the lodge. Most animals rest during the hot lunch hour and ideally, you will see the most game again in the afternoon. The landscape is stunning and with a bit of luck, you may see Elephants in the mighty Ewaso Nyiro River, a beautiful sight. Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area. After an early breakfast, visit a Samburu village before driving to Marsabit, home to the Gabra, Rendille, and Borana tribes. Arrive at your lodge for lunch, then head for an afternoon game drive in Marsabit National Park, once home to Ahmed the Great Tusker, the only elephant ever given state protection by President Jomo Kenyatta. The park’s forested mountains and crater lakes sustain elephants, lions, leopards, kudus, zebras, gazelles, and rich birdlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Marsabit to Loiyangalani via Kalacha

After breakfast, depart with packed lunch for Loiyangalani, reaching late afternoon. This small town on Lake Turkana’s southeastern coast, meaning “place of many trees,” is home to the Turkana and El Molo people. Founded near a freshwater spring, it’s a cultural hub where 12 ethnic groups gather for the annual Lake Turkana Festival, showcasing traditions, dances, and crafts against a dramatic desert-lake backdrop.

Loiyangalani Exploration

The day will be spent with the local communities exhibiting their culture and getting a chance to interact and photograph them. There is a possibility of visiting the Southern Island but this depends on the wind situation as there are no powerful boats in this area. You can take a walk on the lakeshore of Lake Turkana. Loiyangalani to South Horr

After breakfast, visit a Turkana village and, if time allows, another local tribe to experience their culture and traditions. Later, depart for South Horr, a picturesque settlement nestled between rugged hills and desert landscapes. Arrive at your camp in time for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, giving you time to relax or opt for a short village visit to interact with the locals before dinner and overnight.

Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation and spend the night in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve

Today, you will begin with a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingo population and its conservation efforts for rhinos. You will also have the chance to spot other wildlife, including giraffes, buffaloes, and various bird species. Afterward, you will drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the most famous safari destinations in the world. You will arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a short game drive, possibly spotting lions, elephants, and other wildlife before checking into your lodge for an overnight stay.

Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Today is a full day of exploration in the Masai Mara National Reserve, where you will enjoy a game drive in the morning and afternoon. The reserve is known for its incredible wildlife sightings, including the Great Wildebeests Migration (if traveling during the right season), as well as the Big Five. The Mara offers diverse landscapes, making it an excellent place for wildlife photography. You will have the chance to visit a Masai village and learn more about the culture and traditions of the Masai people. After an exciting day, you will return to your lodge for an overnight stay.
